This 1997 Caperdonich peated vintage has been matured in American oak barrels, bottled at cask strength and wtihout chill-filtration. Rich on the nose, with aromas of orange, cranberry jam, honeycomb and bonfire smoke. On the palate, flavour notes of poached pears, ginger jam and roasted chestnuts are intertwined with notes of sweet peat smoke. The finish is sweet and smoky.

CAPERDONICH DISTILLERY
Caperdonich distillery, once stood on the banks of the River Spey, IS NO MORE. A building opened in 1898 and taken down, brick by brick, in 2011. This single malt is all that remains of the whisky from the ‘SECRET WELL’. A water spring where, legend tells, clandestine lovers used to meet in the dead of night. A place where distillers have always crafted whisky with passion, letting heart rule over head. While the building may be gone, the distillers’ craft lives on.
