Experience two dramatically different expressions of modern American whiskey innovation with the Bardstown Bourbon Limited 2026 Bundle, pairing Lochs of Jura Barrel Finish with Bardstown Bourbon Company 2026 Discovery Garryana Oak Finish.

Released together as Bardstown Bourbon Company's 2026 Fall Collection, these bottles follow two separate paths toward the same goal: discovering how exceptional whiskey can be transformed through creative blending, rare wood and distinctive finishing techniques. Bardstown describes the pair as two different explorations of what bourbon can become—one driven by extraordinary Scotch whisky casks and the other by scarce American oak.

Bardstown Bourbon Lochs of Jura Barrel Finish

Lochs of Jura begins with a bespoke blend of straight bourbon and rye whiskey before spending an extraordinary 32 additional months in former Single Malt Scotch whisky barrels sourced from Scotland's remote Isle of Jura.

The finishing program combines 84% ex-bourbon Scotch casks and 16% ex-Sherry Scotch casks, building layers of vanilla crème, blackberry compote, toasted oak, cigar box, spearmint, caramel, cinnamon and fruit-forward sherry character while adding subtle malt and maritime complexity. Bottled at 104 proof, Lochs of Jura earned 99 points at the 2026 International Wine & Spirit Competition and was named Best American Whiskey by Bardstown Bourbon Company.

Bardstown Bourbon 2026 Discovery

The 2026 Discovery expression takes a very different approach. Bardstown selected mature 7-, 10- and 11-year-old bourbons for their balance of fruit and oak, then transferred the blend into custom barrels made from Garryana oak, also known as Oregon White Oak.

These rare Pacific Northwest barrels were hand-toasted for three hours by Oregon Barrel Works, then used to finish the whiskey for four months. The result is bottled at 112.8 proof and delivers layers of toasted oak, burnt sugar, baked apple cobbler, dried cherry and cinnamon bark, culminating in a long, warming finish driven by the distinctive Garryana oak.

Adding to the collectible nature of the pair, Louisville artist Margaret Archambault tasted each whiskey and translated its aroma, flavor and texture into original artwork. Her paintings appear on the bottle labels, making these the first Bardstown annual releases to pair their whiskey concepts with commissioned works of art.

Together, these two bottles make an outstanding Bardstown Bourbon collector's set, limited whiskey gift, tasting flight or premium home-bar addition, offering a rare side-by-side look at Scotch-cask finishing and innovative American oak maturation.

How to Enjoy

For the best side-by-side tasting experience, pour both whiskies neat into separate Glencairn glasses.

Start with Lochs of Jura. Its 104-proof profile is slightly softer and lets you explore the blackberry, vanilla crème, malt, mint and Scotch-cask influence first.

Follow with 2026 Discovery, where the higher 112.8-proof bottling and Garryana oak deliver more toasted wood, burnt sugar, baked fruit and cinnamon intensity.

Allow both pours several minutes of air before tasting. A few drops of water can reveal additional fruit and sweetness, particularly in Discovery. This bundle is also excellent for an elevated whiskey tasting night focused on cask finishing, rare oak and modern American blending.
